Ricky Martin is back and has never been better. The new album MAS(Musica, Alma, Sexo) is mostly in Spanish (or as Martin calls it "world music") and is his most expertly produced piece of work to date. Martin and his team of producers (predominantly among them Desmond Child) offer a variety of pop, rock and dance tracks on MAS. A standout single is "The Best Thing About Me Is You" a duet with Joss Stone that is the most adult contemporary Martin has ever sounded. The song is a thrilling and uplifting treat that is sure to be very radio friendly and as shiny as the sun. It's clear to this listener that Martin's "coming out" has surely influenced his music. The outstanding "Shine" is an optimistic and proud reflection of a life lived. The most dance-floor-ready tracks are "M�s" and "Ser� Ser�" and prove that Ricky Martin still knows how to live "la vida loca." Showcasing Martin's further evolving artistry is the powerfully belted "No Te Miento" that is richly rock based. Musica + Alma + Sexo is a wonderful reintroduction to this pop artist. Martin once asked listeners to drink from the cup of life. It appears that he has taken his own advice and drunk heartedly. "MAS" is his best work yet.
