An eclectic group of female musicians will take to the stage on Saturday, April 16th for the 12th annual Goddess Show. The event, which celebrates women in music, will run from 1pm to 5pm at The Met in Pawtucket. Doors open at 12 pm.

The lineup includes a mix of newcomers and old favorites, including Sister Funk (on first at 1pm), DJ Kim, Mary Ann Rossoni and guests Namoli Brennet, Big Bang Burlesque, The Moist Towelettes and host Eva Destruction.

For the past six years, Sister Funk has been headlining concert arenas, clubs and music festivals playing tracks off their 3 independent CD releases: Pursuit of the Groove (c) 2001, Girl (c) 2003 & Gossip (c) 2006. Sister Funk's music is best described as commercial pop/rock, similar in sound & style to artists like Pink & Maroon Five.

Sister Funk's long list of credits and accolades include: 1st Place Winners in the 2007 Emergenza Music Festival, in 2006 became a featured artist on the Olivia Cruise roster, winners of the 2005 Hartford Advocates Best Pop Band, Best Bassist, Best Guitarist, Best Horn Player & Best Drummer, in 2004 voted Favorite Out Band by National Stonewall Society, in 2003 Crucify was nomination for Best OUT Song by Out Music NYC and in 2003 listed as One of the Top 12 Artists on the Rise by GONYC Magazine.

Mary Ann Rossoni is a Rhode Island native who has been writing and performing for more than 13 years. Rossoni has made three recordings. Downcity, released on the Wall Street label, sold well and received national acclaim. Half Slips & Garters, her solo debut album back in 1998, also included a number of audience favorites, and served as the catalyst in building her fan base. Rossoni's third album, Timber & Nails, "is about as personal a collection as I could have written," Rossoni explained.

In addition to her music, Rossoni is also an accomplished painter and has exhibited her work at gallery shows.

Namoli Brennet was born male and transitioned to female. However, like many gender-variant types, she identifies as "trans." Brennet's musical influences include Shawn Colvin and Joni Mitchell. Since 2002, Brennet has produced 8 CDs starting with Boy in a Dress. Her most recent release, Black Crow, dropped in February 2010.

Big Bang Burlesque features extravagant performers Bettysioux Tailor and Serendipity Galore. Their act is described as "the awkward and the comic with a soupcon of sex and glamour tossed in." Tailor and Galore have appeared in various clubs in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. On April 22, they will appear at the Boston Burlesque Expo.

Table reservations or individual tickets ($20/person in advance or $25/person at the door) are available at http://thegoddessshow.eventbrite.com/ or at GirlSpot. For more information visit www.prideri.com.
